Das praktische Lernmodul zur Vermittlung der Künste
Kunst soll für alle da sein. Die Bildungsdirektion Zürich und das Institute for Art Education tragen dazu mit einem Lernmodul zur Vermittlung der Künste bei. Der Kunstkasten bietet Schülerinnen und Schülern der Sekundarstufe I und II die Möglichkeit, sich spielerisch mit Persönlichkeiten und Produktionen aus Musik, Tanz, Theater und Bildender Kunst zu beschäftigen. So gewinnen sie Wissen über die künstlerischen Arbeitsbereiche und deren beruflichen Perspektiven. Den Kunstkasten gibt es in den drei Vertiefungen Bildende Kunst, Musik und Tanz/Theater. Jede Vertiefung enthält Unterrichtsmaterial für minimal sieben Lektionen.

Mehr kulturelle Teilhabe durch rationale Kulturvermittlung
Kunst und Kultur sind für alle da – und doch erreichen die Angebote der Kulturinstitutionen nur eine bestimmte, klar umrissene Gruppe der Gesellschaft. Woran liegt das? Und wie lässt es sich ändern? Das theoretische Rüstzeug dafür stellt der Erziehungswissenschaftler Markus Rieger-Ladich vor. Er zeigt in seinem Beitrag, welch großen Wert die Konzepte des Soziologen Pierre Bourdieu für das Verständnis und die Diskussion der kulturellen Teilhabe besitzen. Auf der Grundlage eines Praxisprojektes, bei dem die Schwierigkeiten einer an Teilhabe und Mitbestimmung orientierten Kulturpraxis deutlich zu Tage traten, plädiert das Buch für eine »rationale« Form der Kulturvermittlung – frei von Idealisierungen, nah an der Realität der Praxis, mit offenem Blick für ihre Grenzen und Möglichkeiten.
