Die Basis dieser künstlerischen Untersuchung bilden zwölf ungefähr einstündige Gespräche mit Schmerzpatient*innen und Schmerzspezialist*innen. Tabes Rothfuchs skizziert in den Kapiteln Schmerz, Erzählen, Chronos und Ästhetische Forschung die Multidimensionalität von chronischen Schmerzen. Das Kapitel Dialog ist eine erste künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit den transkribierten Gesprächen in Form einer fragmentarischen Textsammlung, und Performance Intervention dokumentiert die vierstündige künstlerische Performance, die als Teil der Untersuchung am Zentrum für Schmerzmedizin in Nottwil stattfand.
